SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. (AP) — What are being described as “human body parts” have been found on a Swampscott beach.

The Essex district attorney’s office said in a statement that a civilian out for a walk on King’s Beach found the body parts on Wednesday morning and called local police.

The remains were found near a lobster trap that apparently washed up on shore.

The body parts will be examined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in an effort to determine an identity.

No other information was immediately available.
