I am writing to about the recent law that was proposed to lower the age requirement from 10 to 8 for hunting in the state of Maine.
I am an 8-year-old boy and I would like to enjoy the sport of hunting. But there is a law against kids under the age of 10 participating in this activity. I think responsible kids with responsible parents and adults should be able to hunt because, you can be able to enjoy being outside. It could also be a bonding experience with the person that you go with. And lastly because it would make it so more hunting licenses are purchased and the state would have more money for the Department of Fisheries & Wildlife. Also in the state of New Hampshire and some other states you can hunt at any age. Can you please publish this in your newspaper?
