OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Waynflete entered the weekend with just one loss so far this season. Old Orchard Beach almost made it two on Saturday. Almost.
The Seagulls (6-7) pushed the Flyers (10-1) to the brink by forcing overtime, but Waynflete held on for a 61-54 victory in a WMC boys basketball game.
Mile Belleau scored a game-high 22 points for Waynflete, which was 5-6 from the free throw line in overtime. Harry Baker-Connick added 14 points.
Erik Hogan and Zach Hirst scored 14 points apiece for the Seagulls, while Bryan Roberts pitched in with 13.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Abby Dubois paced Old Orchard Beach with 19 points as the host Seagulls downed Waynflete 52-35 in a WMC girls basketball game on Saturday.
Vanessa Hebert and Brianna Plante combined to hit five 3-pointers and score 17 points off the bench for the Seagulls (10-2).
Juliana Harwood scored a team-high 10 points for the Flyers (7-5).
