Elsie was fond of her earlier employment in Bath. While at the Bath Children’s Home, she generously gave time and opened her own home to the resident children to celebrate holidays with her own family. For many years she cooked at the Bath Memorial Hospital coffee shop and was known for her delicious treats. Many till today, remember her days at Shaw’s Supermarket where she greeted all with her warm smile and courteous service.
Elsie loved Bath and warmed the hearts of many. She was a devoted friend with a huge heart, one that could not be measured by human hands. She held a garden of love for her grandchildren, “Nana” as they called her. A quote to describe her, used by her grandson, Ryan: “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.” John C. Maxwell. An additional quote to describe Elsie by her granddaughter Arelitsa: “My grandmother who was a loving woman has joined my grandfather today to watch over their family and become our guardian angel.” Granddaughter expressed. Nana, we all wish we had more time.

The family would like to extend their greatest appreciation for the continued communication of support and sharing of cherished memories with Elsie, during this tough time. They would especially like to thank the nursing staff at Mid Coast Hospital. “Tess, your guidance and care will never be forgotten.” As well as, Dr. Chad LaChance and Dr. Lora Jobe for their ability to ease us through this life ending process and tremendous support. They would also like to send a thank you to the entire Small Point Baptist Church community, for providing years of continued faith and love to Elsie. It was her home away from home.
The family will be holding a service on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Small Point Baptist Church, 1754 Main Road, Phippsburg, Maine.
Following the church service we are asking you to join us at a reception and celebration of Elsie Mailly’s life at Small Point Baptist Church. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, all donations be made to the Small Point Baptist Church.
