Hall. Gather a few minutes before noon at the corner of
Front and Centre for singing and a short ceremony, followed by the bell ringing and refreshments in City Hall auditorium. Bring your party hats and noisemakers! Free. Maine’s First Ship Party, 6 –

Commercial Street. Music, light refreshments, and a roaring bonfire at the shipyard on the Kennebec to raise funds for the construction of the Pinnace Virginia. Henry and Marty’s Restaurant will cater the affair, providing hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar starting at 6 p.m. Orman’s
Seafood Chowder will be served at 7 p.m., and Earl
Bigelow and the Cilantro Trio will perform their jazzy sounds from 6:30 – 8 p.m. A silent auction will run from 6 p.m. to
9 p.m., and the live auction will run from 8 – 9 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person, and are available by calling

Saturday morning at the
Farmer’s Market at the
Freight Shed, or at the door.
FREEPORT
New Year’s Eve celebration will begin with fireworks at 6 p.m. The family friendly event features live music, and kids activities, in addition to the fireworks.
TOPSHAM
Contradancing, 8:30 p.m. – ?
Grange Hall on Pleasant
Street. New Year’s Eve
Extravaganza of contradancing, called by Maggie Robinson and Richard Greene, with music by Velocipede — Julia
Plumb, Baron Collins-Hill &
Friends. Contradancing begins at 8:30 and continues until there are no dancers left. Sparkling cider toast at midnight. Tickets are $13,

Topsham will also bring its
250th anniversary to a close with a bonfire, fireworks, and wagon or sleigh rides at the
Topsham Fairgrounds.
Wagon/Sleigh rides will take place from 6:15-8:15 p.m., the bonfire will begin at 6:30 p.m., and fireworks at 8:30 p.m. Hot cocoa and music will be provided.
