HAVERHILL, Mass. (AP) — Police say someone stole a baby Jesus statue from a Nativity scene on Christmas morning and replaced it with a real pig’s head.
Authorities say the statue was taken from in front of Sacred Hearts Roman Catholic Church in Haverhill.
Police are seeking the public’s help and plan to hold a news conference on the theft Friday morning.
The baby Jesus figurine was also stolen from the Nativity scene on Greenfield Town Common, likely before dawn on Christmas Eve.
