The Santa Fund would like to thank all the parents that picked up their boxes on Thursday! With few glitches reported, Santa was quite happy with the results of his busy elves.

Thursday’s mail delivered some very nice donations, and the amount has pushed us ever closer to our goal! A few more days like this and we can close the year on a high note!

We’d like to thank Diane and Daniel Dorian for their donation of $750; $161 was received from Betsy and David Stein in gratitude for their two sons and bonus daughters and eight grandchildren: Rob and Julie, Ben, Allison, Tad, and Ian; Tad and Chryssy, Isabelle, Sam, Emily and Henry — $1 for every year of life — $150 was received from Mercedes Haines and Family in Memory of James Haines. $ 150 was received from Carol and Bruce London. The Girl’s Night Out contributed $100 in the name of Edgar Hancox, Past Exalted Ruler of Bath Elks Lodge # 934. Another $100 arrived from Anonymous. $50 was sent in my Mercedes Haines and Family in Memory of James Haines. Another $50 was sent in by Joan and Walter Phillips. Evelyn and Joe Moller mailed in a $ 25 check in Memory of David Moller, and Geraldine Perry sent in $20 on behalf of her great grandchildren.

We are still about $2,600 shy of our cash goal to shop next year. This year was a bit bigger than expected, so next year is difficult to predict. If you meant to send in a contribution, it’s not too late to get in your end of year taxdeductible donation. Please mail it to:

At this time, we are not able to accept any more toys or knitted items, as our storage facilities are very limited. If there is anyone who can donate dry storage space until next November, please contact us immediately. We really don’t need a very large place, but it must be dry and secure. A message can be left at either the Brunswick Elks Lodge or the Bath Lodge. Every dollar we don’t have to spend on storage and office supplies goes directly to the children we serve, and stays local. Our staff is entirely made up of volunteers, and we try to keep overhead at the very lowest amount possible.

We will have another update on Christmas Eve — Ho! Ho! Ho!
