Calais and state police are investigating a stabbing Friday afternoon that seriously injured a Calais man.

John Haskins, 56, of Calais was stabbed around 3:30 p.m. at a home on Chapel Street, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety. Haskins was taken to Calais Regional Hospital and then transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Police said there were two other adults in the home at the time of the stabbing. Both have been accounted for and there is no threat to the public, McCausland said.

Detectives and troopers were at the home Friday evening to process evidence and conduct interviews.
