ARUNDEL — On Oct. 3, Arundel Machine hosted an open house celebrating the 3rd annual National Manufacturing Day.
National Manufacturing Day has been developed to educate communities on what manufacturing is ”“ and what it isn’t. It is designed to amplify the voice of individual manufacturers and coordinate a collective chorus of manufacturers with common concerns and challenges. The day empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.
At this year’s event, more than 100 people toured the facility; many were students from Biddeford and Sanford high schools along with Thornton Academy in Saco.
Joe Bolduc of Sanford Regional Technical Center; Marc Cadorette of Biddeford Regional Center of Technology; and Allan Young, associate headmaster of Thornton Academy were involved in getting students to the open house.
Arundel Machine plans to continue to work with all three school systems to help educate local students on precision manufacturing.
