WELLS — On Thursday, the body of an elderly woman was found on Moody Beach.
Wells police have determined that the death is not suspicious, according to a prepared statement.
At about 7 a.m., a woman walking her dogs on the beach called Wells police to inform them she saw a body lying face down in the ocean, according to police.
During their investigation, officers determined the dead woman lived near the area where her body was found.
Police are working with the Office of the Maine State Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.
