BRUNSWICK — The Dragons of the Brunswick Area Youth Football League earned sportsmanship points on Saturday during their game against the Tripp Tigers.

The Tigers did not have enough players to put on the field, therefore Nate Girardin, Jakeb Robinson, Connor Predergast and Brady Mitchell traded jerseys in order to play the game, earning praise from the coaches, players and parents from Tripp.

The Dragons won the game with a final of 30-12 as Ryan Duffy and Hunter Backhaus scored two touchdowns each. Donald Bromiley returned a kickoff for 70 yards for a TD.

Kam Harrison and Jacob Belanger were noted for strong play at running back, totaling 60 yards on the night behind great blocking by Jeremiah McNeill, Cole Engstrom, Parker Eckert and Doug Gary.

Noah Cox connected with Sam Sharpe on a 20-yard screen play and Nick Munn had a 20-yard run for his first carry of the season.

On the defensive side, Kohen Bailey, Munn, Kiko Lopez, Tyler Nadeu, Trey Curtis and Shayne Garret led the team in tackles. Girardin scored a touchdown for Tripp on a sweep behind Predergast and Mitchell. Robinson played well on defense for Tripp.

The Dragons play their last game of the season today at 4:30 p.m., with the playoffs beginning on Saturday at Tripp.
