All I can say in response to Peter Anania’s column from Oct. 3 is that while his ability to multiply 948 jobs by various percentiles is admirable, his apparent skill in leaving out more pertinent facts is something to condemn most assertively.

First, he mocks those of us who aspire to be good stewards of the planet we inhabit by minimizing our impact upon it, suggesting that because we are still in the beginning stages of renewable or sustainable energy technology, funds should not come from the government to subsidize and encourage their growth.

Secondly, I take issue with his point about “relying on government handouts…” Hey, Peter, how many tax breaks (i.e., subsidization) has Big Oil had, and how much do they continue to have? Just my two cents.
