I am a World War II, Korean and Vietnam War veteran and I encourage every Scarborough veteran and their families to support Shawn Babine for Scarborough Town Council.

I have known Shawn for more than a decade and I believe he has the leadership skills, experience and patience it takes to be a strong town councilor. Shawn has shown himself to be an active listener, thoughtful facilitator and citizen advocate, time and time again. His past leadership has helped guide our community through tough financial times and times of growth and prosperity.

Shawn is involved in our community at all levels. He first volunteered for the town’s Recreation Advisory Committee, he went on to serve one term on the School Board, and, most significantly, Shawn was elected three terms to our Town Council where his leadership was most needed in curbing spending and maintaining a stable property tax base.

Shawn was elected to the Cumberland County Budget Advisory Committee twice, serving one term as chairman. He was instrumental in the founding of the Scarborough 350th Anniversary Committee. Shawn is now home from Indianapolis and we need his leadership back on the council where we can be certain to have a voice of reason. We need to return Shawn to the Town Council.
