Southern Maine Agency on Aging is reminding all seniors that the Open Enrollment Period for those who have Medicare begins on Wednesday, Oct. 15. During this time, those on Medicare should examine their coverage and check up on their Part D prescription drug plan.

Formularies (lists of covered drugs), prices and requirements do change for a company from year to year so what worked in 2014 may not in 2015. Very few changes in 2015 drug plans can be made after Dec 7.

To help guide seniors, Southern Maine Agency on Aging offers monthly seminars on Medicare at these locations:

Scarborough: Southern Maine Agency on Aging, 136 US Route 1, Mondays and Thursdays. Call for days and times including evenings, 396-6500.

Windham: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 919 Roosevelt Trail,

first and third Tuesdays,10 a.m.-noon,

Bridgton: Reach Stan Cohen through the Bridgton Community Center at 647-3116 for an appointment.

Call the Southern Maine Agency on Aging to register for the upcoming seminars or to make one-on-one appointments with Medicare advocates 396-6500 or 800-427-7411. Seminar walk-ins can usually be accommodated.
