EDGECOMB — Navigating your way through an “alphabet soup” of business resource acronyms can be confusing and time consuming for business owners and entrepreneurs. This can result in missed opportunities for those seeking financial and technical assistance to establish and grow their business.
On Thursday, Oct. 16, a free business resource event will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Water’s Edge banquet facility on Route 1 in Edgecomb. Representatives from a number of federal, state and local business development agencies will be on hand to discuss resources available to support businesses and to network with you and other attendees.
Presenting will be representatives of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, the Finance Authority of Maine, Coastal Enterprises Inc., the Maine Technology Institute, and Women, Work & Community, among others.
Existing businesses and entrepreneurs considering a business startup are invited to attend. Also invited are banks and credit unions interested in learning more about the various resources available to their customers.
R.S.V.P. by contacting Scott Benson of the Midcoast Economic Development Council at 370-6045 or sbenson@mceddme.org.
The event is sponsored by the Midcoast Economic Development District and the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission, with support from Lincoln County.
