After some inspirational words from Julie Russem, the founder of the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, a large crowd begins the 28th annual MCCP Walk from the Maine Medical Campus in Scarborough last Saturday. The 3-mile walk, held during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, was one of seven walks statewide that raised more than $23,000 for the program, Maine’s comprehensive treatment center for children fighting cancer and blood disorders.
