PARSONSFIELD — A woman from Parsonsfield told police that she was briefly abducted by two men in a mint green pickup truck.

The woman, who called police at about 2 p.m. on Sunday, claimed that she was pulled into the truck by two college-aged men ”“ one wearing a red baseball cap with black lettering ”“ and driven up and down Route 160 for about 20-30 minutes before being dropped off close to where she was abducted. She claimed that the men poured alcohol on her head during the drive, according to a statement from the York County Sheriff’s Office.

The vehicle, which reportedly had lights on the top of the cab, similar to emergency lights that plowing vehicles use, was last seen on Route 160 heading toward Parsonsfield, the sheriff’s office reported.

Chief Deputy William King said deputies have found no credible evidence that the incident occurred. However, as a precautionary measure, area police departments were notified, and an investigation is underway.
