Amanda Martin, previously the classifieds account manager and inside salesperson for Current Publishing, has been promoted to advertising account executive for the American Journal. She will be responsible for serving current American Journal advertisers in Westbrook, Gorham and Buxton, and bringing new advertisers to the newspaper, as well as the company’s website and monthly magazines.

“This is well-deserved,” said Barbara Cole, sales manager for Westbrook-based Current Publishing. “Amanda has done a marvelous job as sales assistant and with inside phone sales. She agreed to help out with the AJ clients and did such a terrific job that we promoted her.”

Martin has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine. She and her husband live in Windham with their two dogs and two cats. She can be reached at 854-2577 or amartin@keepmecurrent.com.

In addition to the American Journal, the company publishes three other weekly newspapers: the Tri-Town Weekly, covering Freeport, Durham and Pownal; the Current, covering South Portland, Scarborough and Cape Elizabeth; and the Lakes Region Weekly, covering Windham, Raymond, Standish, Gray, New Gloucester, Casco, Naples and Sebago. Its two local monthly news magazines are The Village, covering Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Arundel; and The Sun Monthly, covering Saco, Biddeford and Old Orchard Beach. Current Publishing also produces a number of niche magazines, including Maine Women, My Generation and 95 North. Its website, www.keepmecurrent.com, is among the fastest growing in the state.
