BRUNSWICK

The deadline for delivering signatures to the Brunswick town clerk in order to appear on the local ballot elapsed on Friday. Three seats each are up for grabs on the school board and town council. Here is a look at whose nomination papers were certified and whose names will appear on the November ballot, according to the town clerk’s office.

— Town Council

District 5: Gerald E. Favreau, Riverview Drive (incumbent); Daniel E. Harris, Mountain Ash Avenue.

District 7: Sarah E. Brayman, McKeen Street (incumbent).

District 7: Sarah N. Singer, Thompson Street.

Two people took out nomination papers for the school board, but never returned them: Jonathan M. Crimmins for the District 5 seat and Shannon Landry for the at large seat.

Two notable incumbents are not seeking re-election.

School Board Chairwoman Michele Joyce of District 7 announced last week she would not run after being accepted into a graduate school. She said she wanted to concentrate on her schooling and her family.

Town Council Chairman Benet Pols over the summer said he did not want to run in order to make room on the council for new blood.

Neither Pols nor Joyce ever took out nomination forms.

Those changes come at a time when the town is vetting two final candidates to become the next town manager.

Starting at 6 p.m. tonight, an informal social hour will be held at Town Hall featuring interim Town Manager John Eldridge, followed by a onehour question-and-answer session.

A sizable crowd gathered for a similar evening with James Bennett on Friday. Bennett, the other finalist, is the current city manager of Presque Isle.
