The Schoolhouse Arts Center is winding down its summer season with one of the most famous mysteries ever to be produced for the stage, “The Mousetrap” by Agatha Christie, which will be presented from Sept. 12-28 in the Schoolhouse’s newly refurbished theater in Standish on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m.

“Mousetrap” is one of Christie’s most memorable works, offering up a plot that twists and turns throughout the play. It was written in 1952 and has been presented in London continuously for 62 years, making it the longest running play in the modern history of theater. If you enjoy a mystery, “Mousetrap” is a masterpiece.

Director Harlan Baker has gathered some of Maine’s most talented actors to the Schoolhouse stage for this exciting presentation. They include Janelle LoSciuto from Westbrook, who plays Mollie Ralston. Dillon Bates of Westbrook will perform the role of Giles Ralston. Mrs. Boyle is played by Elizabeth Phipps from Standish. Major Metcalf is played by Chris Roberts from Portland. Israel Buffardi of Portland will play the part of Mr. Paravacini. Tristan Rolfe of Portland has the role of Christopher Wren. Miss Casewell is played by Jaqueline Mansfield from Windham. And Ezra Damm from Portland will be Sgt. Trotter.

Schoolhouse Arts Center, 16 Richville Road (Route 114) in Standish, is located near the intersection of routes 114 and 35. Ticket prices are $14 for adults and $12 for seniors and students.
