OGUNQUIT — The Ogunquit Playhouse, together with Video Creations, has been named a Silver winner in the 35th annual Telly Awards for a group tour promotional video entitled “Come for Play, Stay for the Day.”
The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions and online commercials, videos and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world. The 35th annual Telly Awards received nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries.
“We have partnered with Video Creations on all our in-house archival and promotional videos for many years. Their attention to detail, passion for their work and creativity is equal to their professionalism. They are wonderful collaborators and supporters of the Ogunquit Playhouse, and we are very blessed to have them as our company videographers. We are very proud to share this award with Blake Baldwin and his team at Video Creations,” said Cheryl Farley, Ogunquit Playhouse director of marketing and public relations.
The Ogunquit Playhouse developed a promotional video with Video Creations of Kennebunk to attract group tours to the Town of Ogunquit and enjoy the restaurants, shops and the exclusive Broadway shows produced at the historic Ogunquit Playhouse. Farley collaborated with Video Creations president and founder Blake Baldwin on the concept, script and editing of the unique promotional video. Baldwin’s design for the video includes photos and video clips of the local area and The Ogunquit Playhouse’s shows appearing within post card images on a spinning rack. The award winning piece has been shown at industry trade shows, online and to group tour operators.
A prestigious judging panel of more than 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work ”“ entries do not compete against each other ”“ rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit. Less than 10 percent of entries are chosen as winners of the Silver Telly, their highest honor.
