Brockton, Mass. — Brockton starter Jake Fishman allowed one run on six hits over 6.2 innings and the Rox beat Old Orchard Beach 5-2 in an FCBL game on Friday night at Campanelli Stadium

With the defeat, the Raging Tide end their season with the worst record in the league at 19-34.

Brockton got on the board first Friday as Jake Willsey hit a two-out triple off OOB starter Miguel Silva to plate Zack Short.

OOB tied the game in the top of the fourth when Graham McIntire hit a two-out double to plate Rahiem Cooper, but the Rox took a 3-1 lead straight away as Apolinar De La Cruz led off the bottom half of the fourth with a solo home run and James Venutto singled in Jacob Marotta later in the inning.

OOB had a chance to tie the game back up in the fifth, but Aaron Wilson grounded out with runners on second and third and two outs. Brockton then took a 5-1 lead in the bottom half of the inning as De La Cruz singled in Willsey and Tom Stoffel scored on an error by catcher Mekae Hyde.

The Tide were able to get one run back in the ninth as McIntire tripled and scored on Trevor Fink’s groundout, but Rox closer Brendan King struck out Paul McDonough to end the game and Old Orchard Beach’s season.
