SANFORD — The man’s body found in the Mousam River Friday has been identified as that of William Fawcett of Springvale.
Sanford Police said Wednesday that the investigation revealed no suspicious circumstances, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed the cause of death as an accidental drowning.
Police responded to the area of the Mousam River near the dam on Mill Street Friday night, and with the assistance of the Sanford Fire Department, recovered Fawcett’s body from the water.
