The 2014 La Kermesse Parade on June 27 was a proud day to remember for the Franco-American Biddeford community. It was also a proud day for Biddeford Republicans as our governor, of French heritage, and his wife accepted our invitation to participate along with many candidates and party workers.
The crowds received our governor and first lady with enthusiasm as they rode on the flatbed truck along the parade route. Shouts of “Good job, LePage!” and “Keep up the good work!” were heard.
The governor is not a smooth-talking professional politician; rather, he is a successful businessman who has brought his acumen to the fiscal problems of Maine. He knows that government does not create jobs. The free market, unfettered by government, allows jobs to be created by free men. His legacy so far: hospitals paid, welfare reformed, taxes cut and more jobs.
He is committed to: stopping domestic violence, improving education, taking care of veterans, protecting our inalienable rights, safeguarding the environment and improving infrastructure. All of this using the proven techniques of free enterprise and sound business principles.
