Gov. Paul LePage recently vetoed additional taxpayer dollars for family planning (LD 1247); a vote against the increase in family planning spending is a pro-life vote.
York County representatives voting pro-life include Reps. Sharri MacDonald, Don Marean and Wayne Parry. Those voting pro-abortion are Reps. Paulette Beaudoin, Bobbi Beavers, Andrea Boland, Alan Casavant, Justin Chenette, Mark Eves, Barry Hobbins, Anne-Marie Mastraccio, Paul McGowan, Joshua Plante, Megan Rochelo and Deane Rykerson.
Republicans voted pro-life; Democrats voted pro-abortion.
In the Maine Senate, there are no pro-life senators from York County. Sens. Dawn Hill, Ronald Collins, David Dutremble, John Tuttle and Linda Valentino all voted pro-abortion.
The Family Planning Association and Planned Parenthood both lobbied hard for additional taxpayer dollars and are the state’s largest abortion providers. The Legislature sustained LePage’s veto.
