BUXTON – In a municipal election, Buxton voters will choose two selectmen and a town clerk in uncontested races on Tuesday, June 10, with balloting at town hall, 185 Portland Road.

According to a sample ballot, incumbent Jean Harmon and Dennis Santolucito are unopposed for three-year seats on the Board of Selectmen, and Town Clerk John Myers is also running unopposed for another three-year term.

Voters will also be asked to validate the School Administrative District 6 budget, asking for $45,622,550 for the fiscal year beginning July 1. The amount is up from the $44,572,780 authorized for this year. Besides Buxton, the school district’s towns are Frye Island, Hollis, Limington and Standish.

In a Buxton referendum, voters will decide whether to trim the size of the Planning Board from seven to five members. No names appear on Tuesday’s ballot for a pair of three-year terms and one two-year term in available openings on the Planning Board.

The Planning Board, according to the town’s website, now has five of seven allowed members. But the term of Clifford Thomas expires this month, and his name is not on the sample ballot.

No candidate names are on the ballot for a SAD 6 director’s seat or for a Budget Committee seat for two years.

Myers said that write-in candidates are not required to file with his office.

Voters will select a town moderator at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10. The Buxton annual town meeting is set for 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, when voters will decide a town budget.
