Maine Pines Racquet and Fitness will host the 2014 USTA National Men’s 35 indoor championships June 6-12. It’s a Category 1 tournament. FMI, 729-8433.

Local football players honored

Brunswick’s Lucas McCue and Joshua O’Neil Thibeault recently were named recipients of the 27th annual scholar-athlete award from the Howard Vandersea/Maine Chapter of the National Football Foundation. Both players received $500 scholarships.

Maine Basketball Hall of Fame golf fundraiser upcoming

The first Southern Maine golf scramble to benefit the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame will be held Monday, July 21 at the Falmouth Country Club. The scramble begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The five-man team entry fee of $625 includes two carts and an awards luncheon, scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. FMI, 504-6182 or tfmaines@comcast.net.
