WATERVILLE (AP) — A family member says a 92-year-old found dead in his home in Maine feared a violent end.
State police on Sunday declared the death of Aurele Fecteau to be a homicide, based on the medical examiner’s findings. The autopsy results were not released.
Lorraine Fecteau, the victim’s daughter-in-law, told the Morning Sentinel in an email that “he feared this type of crime would someday be perpetrated against him.” His body was found in his Waterville home on Friday.
Waterville and state police detectives are continuing to conduct interviews. Lorraine Fecteau said preying on the elderly is “cowardly act” and that the family has confidence investigators solve the case.
