SPRINGVALE — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Safety Saturday will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 31 in the parking lot at 21 Bradeen St. in Springvale.

The 10 a.m. to noon portion of the day, which is free, open to the public and does not require pre-registration, will feature four learning stations staffed by local fire and police department staff and specialists. Each of the four stations will focus on one topic: ATV, tractor, fire or bicycle safety. Each station will offer two identical one-hour sessions. The public portion of the day concludes with a pizza lunch from 12-12:30 p.m., at which families and youth are invited to eat with safety providers. If it rains, the morning sessions and lunch will be canceled.

The afternoon CPR certification training session, from 12:30-3:30 p.m., is open to enrolled 4-H members 12 years and older. Registration is required. Participants will be taught how to recognize and respond to a cardiopulmonary emergency.
