KENNEBUNK — Children ages 6-10 are invited to join the Brick Store Museum’s new summer camps this year, focusing on museum collections and victory gardens. Each camp will be a week long, Monday through Friday, and will run from 9 a.m. to noon.

The first camp runs July 21-25, with the second camp running July 28 through Aug. 1. Both camps will be held at the Brick Store Museum at 117 Main St., Kennebunk.

Museum Discovery Camp, from July 21-25, will give children a behind-the-scenes look at the Brick Store Museum. From artwork to archaeology, campers will learn about collecting, museums and exhibit design through indoor and outdoor activities, crafts and games. The campers will explore deep into storage and experience what it’s like to be a curator by putting together their own exhibition, which will be put on display at the museum.

Victory Garden Camp will take place the following week, July 28 to Aug. 1. Campers can expect to spend most of the time elbow-deep in dirt, plants and bugs in the Victory Garden in the museum’s garden space. Inspired by the current exhibition, “Vitamin V: How Food Fought the Second World War,” children will learn about all things green as they explore the gardens and exercise their green thumbs. They’ll perform experiments, make garden art, enjoy fresh snacks and learn what it takes to make a garden grow. A field trip to Spiller Farm will also take place during the week.

Snacks will be provided and parents and caregivers are reminded to please dress their children for the weather. Sunscreen and bug spray are also recommended.

Deadline for registration is Monday, June 30. There is a limit of 10 campers per camp. Register online at www.brickstoremuseum.org/programs or call the museum at 985-4802 for more information and pricing.
