WATERBORO — Bailey Tremblay pitched a five-hitter with two strikeouts to lead Thornton Academy to a 7-2 victory over Massabesic in an SMAA softball game on Wednesday.
Erin Brayden led the Trojans (4-3) offense with her second-straight four-hit game. Alyssa Wardell led the Mustangs (2-8) with two hits, including a solo home run.
Kennebunk 3, York 2
YORK — Meg Dube had an RBI triple and then scored on Ally King’s single as Kennebunk scored twice in the sixth inning to take a 3-2 victory over York in a Western Maine Conference softball game on Wednesday.
King also pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts for the Rams (4-4), while Stephanie Rundlett struck out 11 for the Wildcats (0-7).

Massabesic 3, Gorham 2
WATERBORO — Justin Langlois battled back after losing the first set to top Erik Andreasen 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles as Massabesic beat Gorham 3-2 in an SMAA boys tennis match on Wednesday afternoon.
The teams split the other two singles matches, with the Mustangs (3-3) winning at No. 3 as Kyle Duffy blanked Joseph Martin 6-0, 6-0, while the Rams’ (2-4) Tom Susi beat Jake Collupy 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 1 match.
Massabesic’s Avery Ring and Chase Berry also fought back to win their match at No. 2 doubles, beating Jeff McNally and Owen Mulrey 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. Gorham won the No. 1 doubles match as Nathan Roberts and Connor White downed Andrew Mongiat and Adam Marcotte.
