BERWICK — Students and faculty from the Fairfield University Film, Television and Media Arts program in Fairfield, Conn. will be shooting a portion of their feature film, entitled “Wild Kingdom,” at the Hackmatack Playhouse at the end of May and early June.
Developed by students under the supervision of program director James Mayzik, the crew of students will use the playhouse as a major location for a main character in the Media Center’s second independent digital feature film.
The theater was chosen during location scouting in March with the help of Maine native and crew member Stan Grunder of Kennebunk, who recommended Hackmatack.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
