WESTBROOK – Westbrook police continue to investigate a hit-and-run accident that occurred last weekend near the intersection of Spring Street and William Clarke Drive.
According to a police report, a 22-year-old Standish man riding a skateboard at roughly 10:30 p.m. on April 19 was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene. Police said the man was taken to Maine Medical Center with potentially serious injuries.
Although police have not yet released the name of the victim, a person named Anthony Charles Athearn commented on a post about the incident on the Westbrook Police Department’s Facebook page, thanking the public for their support.
“Thank you for all of your support, I’m going to make a full recovery over time but please if anyone has any information on the person that did this to me contact the Westbrook Police Department,” Athearn said.
On Tuesday, the police department reported that that there were no further updates in the investigation.
