BATH — With spring finally here to stay, the City of Ships will celebrate May 3 with its annual Mayfair event, a variety of yard sales, and the re-opening of the outdoor farmers market.
Maypole dancing and music will be held on the Customs House lawn from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and sidewalk chalk art with the Art Van will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Meanwhile, Renys will hold a tent sale in the Water Street parking lot from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and other merchants’ sidewalk sales will be offered from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., while yard sales will be held at Library Park.
A scavenger hunt will run downtown between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., with a $25 Gift of Bath certificate as a prize. Participants can either start at Ornament at 11 Centre St., or download a form at visitbath.com.
Tony Dance & Fitness will offer Zumba dancing for children at 26 Centre St. from 1-2 p.m., and local food producers will offer samples at Lisa-Marie’s Made in Maine, 170 Front St., from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Bath Hair will hold an open house at its new location, 99 Commercial St., from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
The Bath Farmers Market will host its outdoor opening day at Waterfront Park from 8:30 a.m.-noon. Local produce, pork, fresh and frozen chicken, maple syrup, flowers, cheese, eggs, herbs, seedlings, plants and baked items will be among the offerings.
