BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — A hearing is going on this week in federal court on whether there was juror misconduct in the 2005 trial of a man who now faces the death penalty for killing a Vermont woman.
The Burlington Free Press reports lawyers for Donald Fell allege several jurors either misled attorneys during the selection process about their backgrounds or engaged in questionable conduct while serving.
The lawyers are asking for a new trial or a reduced sentence for Fell.
