A four-night mission featuring Fr. Larry Richards will be offered at St. Joseph Church, 178 Elm St. in Biddeford, from Monday, March 31 through Thursday, April 3. The sessions will run from 7-9 p.m. each night and admission is free. A freewill offering will be collected on April 3. Richards is an author, serves as pastor of St. Joseph Church in Erie, Pa. and is host of the national radio show “Changed Forever with Father Larry Richards.” The purpose of the mission is to help people grow in their love for God and give them direction in their daily lives, according to a statement from the Diocese of Portland. Each night will feature a different theme: Monday ”“ Knowing God’s Love and How to Pray; Tuesday ”“ The Gift of Mass and the Importance of Family; Wednesday ”“ The Passion of Jesus Christ; Thursday ”“ Healing Service and the New Life of Discipleship. An All-Time Reunion will be hosted by the Sanford Unitarian Universalist Church, 5 Lebanon St., Sanford, to welcome past members and friends on Sunday, April 6, with a service at 10:30 a.m. The All-Time Reunion will include a service with comments from members covering the last 50+ years, special music, a multimedia presentation, and the “Then and Again Choir.” All former and current choir members, as well as others who enjoy singing, are invited to sing. The annual Purim Party at Congregation Etz Chaim, 36 Bacon St., Biddeford, will take place on Sunday, March 16 from 2-4:30 p.m. The community is invited to this event, where there will be lots of games and prizes, chanting of the Megillah, the reading of the congregation’s Purim poem and a Purim play performed by the students of the York County Community Hebrew School. Traditional Purim cookies, hamantaschen, will be provided. Purim costumes are encouraged, but not required. The event is pot luck; please bring a vegetarian dish.
