Heating fundraiser dinner planned
Bonita Usher of Buxton, a former legislator, has organized a fish chowder dinner in Westbrook to raise fuel assistance money for those impacted by the harsh winter.
Usher of the VNA Home Health Hospice heard about the need for heating assistance among parishioners at St. Anthony’s Church. The benefit meal will be served from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, at St. Anthony’s, 268 Brown St., in Westbrook. The cost is $9.
Usher said the menu includes haddock chowder, crackers, rolls, cole slaw, coffee, tea or milk, and a brownie ice cream sundae. Usher said VNA’s Faith Community Nursing Program is sponsoring the benefit meal.
Takeouts will be available. Those asking to pick up orders should email Usher at usherb@emhs.org.
