WINDHAM (AP) — Police say a Portland man injured in a head-on car crash in Windham has died.
Craig McPherson died early Sunday afternoon at Maine Medical Center in Portland several hours after the accident on Route 302.
Police say the 26-year-old McPherson was driving a westbound vehicle that collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Sanford woman at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
The woman required treatment at the hospital but was released later in the day.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Neither vehicle had passengers.
The cause remains under investigation but police say there is no indication either vehicle was speeding.
