School budget workshop Saturday
Gorham School Committee will review the proposed $34.3 million budget in an all-day workshop beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, in Room 260 at Gorham Municipal Center, 75 South St.
Superintendent Ted Sharp’s preliminary proposed budget is up $1.4 million from the present $$32.9 million. The budget would add an all-day kindergarten program.
Atwood, Albaugh engaged
Diane and Barry Atwood of Gorham have announced the engagement of their daughter, Stephanie, to Keegan Albaugh, son of Cathy and Dennis Albaugh of Meredith, N.H.
Atwood is a 2002 Gorham High School graduate. She is employed by the University of Vermont Extension as the coordinator of several programs focused on positive youth development.
Keegan, a 2002 graduate of Inter-Lakes High School, is employed by the Howard Center as a teacher at Centerpoint, an alternative high school.
The couple met at Colby College and became friends while working at the local teen center. They live in Burlington, Vt. A September wedding is planned in Vermont on the shore of Lake Champlain.
Stoudt earns university degree
Sarah A. Stoudt graduated from the University of Arizona, Tucson, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in December. Stoudt received a bachelor’s of science degree in nutritional sciences, with an emphasis on dietetics.
She is the daughter of William and Brenda Gray Stoudt of Little Falls. Stoudt’s parents and her sister, Jennifer Stoudt, of Charlotte, N.C., attended the commencement exercises. She also is the granddaughter of the late, longtime Gorham town councilor, Sherman “Red” Gray, and his late wife Jean Gray.
Historical society focuses on ‘road show’
Gorham Historical Society President David McCullough said that the annual antiques road show will serve as the program when the society meets at 7 p.m. on March 10, at the Gorham Savings Bank Operational Center on Gray Road (Route 202). The program will be about appraised values of antiques.
Morin on dean’s list
Stephanie Morin of Gorham was named to the dean’s list at Huntington University in Huntington, Ind., for the fall semester. Morin, a senior, is a psychology major.
U.S. taxpayer debt
The Bureau of the Fiscal Service reported on Feb. 20 that the U.S. public debt was $17,409,111,636,454.46.
Stephanie Atwood and Keegan Albaugh are engaged.
