SANFORD — Susan Normand of Sanford is currently exhibiting her artwork at the Louis B. Goodall Memorial Library through the month of March.
Normand has been drawing and painting for nearly 40 years, according to a statement issued by the library. She grew up in a family of artists and after experimenting with many different mediums, she decided that watercolor was the one she loved working with most. Normand has exhibited artwork in the Portland Sidewalk Art Festival and The Old Orchard Beach Sidewalk Art Festival. She just finished a year-and-a-half-long exhibition at the Town Club in Sanford, and also displays periodically at the Sanford Art Gallery and has several works displayed at Kelly Custom Picture Framing Gallery in Waterboro. She received first place in the annual 2008 SSAA Juried Art Show and the “Best of Show” in 2010 for the June Juried Art Competition. She has also received other ribbons and awards through the Sanford Art Association.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
