Dec. 24: Local Zumba instructor Vicki Toole, also a columnist at the Lakes Region Weekly, is once again offering a free Zumba class, this time on Christmas Eve morning. Her Thanksgiving morning class was such a success, she decided to share the joy once more. The class will be held at 9 a.m. at Bridgton Old Town Hall. Come relieve some of the inevitable holiday stress, and the price is right, so why not. The class will be a combination of Zumba and Zumba Gold, a lower-intensity version. Saturday, Jan. 4: There will be a rabies clinic at the Sebago Town Hall from 10 a.m.-noon. The clinic will be limited to cats and dogs only. No puppies or kittens. Cats must be in carriers, and dogs on a non-retractable leash. The veterinarian also requests no sick or pregnant animals. Costs will be $10. Bring the most recent rabies certificate to receive a 3-year shot, otherwise a 1-year shot will be administered.
Monday, Jan. 6: Windham Reps. Tom Tyler, Gary Pummer and Jane Pringle are hosting a Community Forum to provide education and answer questions about the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). The presentation will be conducted by Carol Zechman, the director of CarePartners. She is a certified application counselor and can answer any questions. The forum will be held in the Windham Town Council Chambers at 7 p.m. with a snow date of Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m.
