WESTBROOK – For many years, the residents of Westbrook were treated to Santa’s Village, presided over by “Westbrook’s Santa,” Charlie Kilbride.
Kilbride would devote hours and often out-of-pocket money to set up a spectacular display at the S.D. Warren Papermakers Union office at 7 Bridge St. (now part of the Frog & Turtle Restaurant).
Kilbride, who died several years ago, often said his reward was seeing the joy it brought to young and old alike.
