SCARBOROUGH — Laboratory instrumentation manufacturer Fluid Imaging Technologies recently earned the Robert R. Masterton Award for economic development.

Presented by the Portland Regional Chamber at a gala event as part of its annual Community Leadership awards, the honor recognizes Fluid Imaging Technologies for its contributions to promoting and enhancing the business climate of greater Portland. The significance of the company’s FlowCAM particle imaging and analysis system, the company’s rapid rate of growth and employment opportunities, and its commitment to manufacturing within the region were key factors in selecting the company for the award, according to Nancy Trottier, director of Events & Programming for the Portland Regional Chamber.

“Fluid Imaging is a business success story and an anchor of the economy, but its leadership also recognizes its role as a member of the community and we applaud all of their contributions,” said Trottier.

The award is named for Robert R. Masterton, who played a key role in the economic revival of Portland.
