Thursday, Oct. 24: The October Community Forum of the South Portland/Cape Elizabeth TRIAD, will provide insight and more information about 2-1-1 Maine, which connects you to a trained operator who can guide you through a comprehensive statewide directory of more than 8,000 health and human services available in Maine. The forum is free and open to all. The event will be held at the Cape Elizabeth Community Center, 343 Ocean House Road, from 2-3 p.m. TRIAD is made up of Cape Elizabeth and South Portland senior citizens, police, and community members who work together to address problems faced by older citizens. Oct. 24: The sixth annual Trivia Bee to Benefit Project GRACE, takes place from 7-10 p.m. at The Landing at Pine Point, 353 Pine Point Road, Scarborough. ??The Trivia Bee is Scarborough’s funniest fundraiser. ??You can create a team, sponsor the event, volunteer, or come to the Landing to enjoy the show. Create a team of three to match wits to test your trivia knowledge: add a fun team name and costume to complete the package. Wednesday, Oct. 30: “Living Well; Living at Home” will be the topic of a “Lunch and Learn” gathering that South Portland/Cape Elizabeth TRIAD and Cape Elizabeth Community Services will co-host at the Cape Elizabeth Fire Department, 2 Jordan Way. Lunch, which will be catered by the Cape Elizabeth High School cafeteria, will begin at 11:30 a.m. At noon, a panel of professionals from Comfort Keepers, a company that provides home care for senior citizens, will discuss resources that help senior citizens stay fit, positive and engaged. Thursday, Nov. 14: Maine Autism Alliance Sibshop takes place 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Maine Autism Alliance Community Center, 15 Pleasant Hill Road, Suite 104, in Scarborough. Sibshop is designed to support brothers and sisters who have siblings with autism. The group meets the second Thursday of every month and is for children ages 8-13 years old. Tuesday, Nov. 19: The Scarborough Senior Advisory Board invites the general public to attend the next monthly meeting at 8:15 a.m. at the Scarborough Town Hall to better understand the workings of the board. The board is also interested in acquiring new board members.
