Haskell is now one of 24 Maine construction professionals to hold this title.
CHST certification is awarded to only those who demonstrate a superior level of health and safety experience and who have been educated in dealing with the prevention of construction illness and injury. The program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and has fewer than 3,000 certificate holders nationwide.
“Customers often look for this kind of certification,” said Haskell. “It’s comforting to know there is a nationally certified safety professional on site who has received enhanced training toward the prevention of work zone-related injury.”
“It speaks volumes to our clients when a nationally certified safety professional like Dan is dedicated to their construction projects,” said Kevin McCarthy, president and CEO of PC Construction.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
