BATH — The theme will be “plenty” during downtown Bath’s annual Autumnfest celebration to be held Saturday, Oct. 12 this Columbus Day weekend.
The daylong event includes plenty of free family activities such as scarecrow making, face painting, fire truck rides, hula-hooping and Zumba for kids; a cornucopia of Made-in-Maine Craft Show items; lots of fiber arts served up with cider and cookies at Halcyon Yarn’s open house; and traditional food and drink during Oktoberfest in the Bath Freight Shed.
There will be plenty of music, food and community spirit, too, as more than 30 local nonprofits share information and enthusiasm at Waterfront Park during Citizen Involvement Day, where awards will be presented to the Citizen of the Year, Youth of the Year and Project of the Year.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
