BATH
Bath Community Television will go dark for several days during abatement project that is expected to last to the end of September.
The Donald Small School, home of the Bath Recreation Department and Bath Community Television, is currently undergoing an abatement project to remove and dispose of asbestos-containing building materials, replacement of abated building materials and partial abatement of lead-based paint on exterior window casings. The project is funded, in part, by a U.S. EPA Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Subgrant using funding received as part of an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Bath Community Television is scheduled to be off the air Sept. 6-16. The office of the Bath Recreation Department will be open throughout the construction, but is expected to move to the top floor for a period of time, while the regular office location is abated.
When the abatement project is completed, there will be new flooring throughout the building, including a multipurpose floor in the gymnasium.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
