For many years, South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has known success with its mid-sized SUV, the Santa Fe. For 2013, the company is coming out with a third generation of the popular truck that features a special new twist. Indeed, the new Santa Fe is not only redesigned, it has become its own line-up. This means that from now on the newest Hyundai will also be available as a five-passenger light truck known as the Sport. Gone is the seven-passenger Vera Cruz; to replace it, Hyundai has designed a stretched seven-passenger version of the Santa Fe. At the same time, Hyundai has decided that the five-passenger Santa Fe’s will be powered only by four-cylinder engines. The base model will have a 190-horsepower 2.4-liter version, and the Sport will have a 264-horsepower turbo. The longer-wheelbased seven-passenger Santa Fe will be available with the 3.3-liter 290-horsepower V-6 engine. The shorter version of the Santa Fe will be offered with frontor all-wheel drive.
