YARMOUTH — The Summerfest is on Aug. 15 at Yankee Marina in Yarmouth. It’s where this second-year initiative of the Institute for Family Owned Business brings together networking, live music, an auction and, of course, food and beverage.
Summerfest is a drop-in event, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., designed for institute members to reconnect and newcomers to join in on the fun and learn more about the institute. Hosted by owners Deborah Delp and Matthew and Ben Stevens, Yankee Marina is located at 142 Lafayette St.
The cost is $35 per person, with registrations accepted at www.fambusiness.org or by calling 798-2667. Summerfest sponsorships are available and auction items, which benefit the institute, are welcomed.
The Institute for Family- Owned Business, a nonprofit, has provided workshops, seminars, consulting and events for 19 years.
Summerfest caps off the programming year and sets the stage for the next one, which begins Sept. 5 with a Women in Business Affinity Group on “Balancing Family, Work and Stress.”
Summerfest sponsors are Allagash Brewing Co., Androscoggin Bank, D. Cole Jewelers, DMM, Key Resources LLP, Morong Falmouth, Oakhurst Dairy, Verrill Dana LLP, Baker Newman Noyes, Sun Media Group and Maddy Corson.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
