The Morse High School faculty and staff join Principal Peter Kahl in recognizing the academic achievement of the following seniors:
Co-Valedictorian Bryn Carr resides in Bath with her parents, George and Martha
Carr.
As an AP Scholar, Carr has received various academic awards for outstanding achievement. She is a member of National Honor Society, Ocean Bowl and Model UN. Barr enjoys drawing, painting, free writing, horseback riding and watching sociocultural and political documentaries.
Her plan after graduation is to take a year off to travel and meet new people. She is especially interested in traveling to Iceland.

— Co-Valedictorian Clare Tolan resides in Bath with her parents, Jim and Francie
Tolan.
Tolan is an AP Scholar with honors. She has received various academic awards for outstanding achievement. She participates in drama, swimming and as captain on the cross-country team. Tolan also enjoys volunteering her time at Midcoast Youth Theater. She is employed by Byrnes Irish Pub. She enjoys hanging out with friends, and watching Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino movies.

— First Honor Essayist Lucy Rawson resides in Bath with her parents, David Rawson and Karen Freedman. She is the recipient of the Williams Book Award and is an AP Scholar with high honors. Rawson is a member of SCLC, the Morse High School band and has played soccer, basketball, cross country and softball. She volunteers her time at the YMCA by doing road races and other Y-sponsored events. She also has participated in Big Brothers/ Big Sisters bowlathon. Rawson works at Skillins Greenhouse. In her spare time, she enjoys running, being out on the water, vacationing, baking and creating outfit ideas.

— Second Honor Essayist Elizabeth Walfield resides in Bath with her parents, Brad and Debbie Walfield.

Walfield plans to study marine biology or biomedical engineering. Her hope and dream is to travel the world, learn to SCUBA dive, sky dive and complete her bucket list.

Leeman.
He has received the Phi Beta Kappa Academic Award and Maine Principals’ Award, received various subject awards for outstanding achievement, and was selected to represent Morse at the Maine Youth Leadership seminar. Leeman has played on the varsity tennis, cross-country and swim teams. He plays trumpet in the band and jazz band, and has played with the Maine Youth Orchestra. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Morse Ocean Bowl team and spent time studying away in New York City with the CITYterm semester program. Leeman worked for Maine Pines Racquet and Fitness, has volunteered time teaching Hebrew to younger children, and has taught tennis lessons to youth in the community. He enjoys playing the guitar, skiing, snowboarding and solving Rubik’s cubes.

— Max Renaud resides in West Bath with his parents, Lawrence “Buddy” and Maria
He is an AP Scholar, is the recipient of the RIT Medal, and has received various subject awards for outstanding achievement. Renaud is a member of National Honor Society, the Shallop Project, Model UN, math team, Boys’ State, and Morse Ocean Bowl team. He plays football. Renaud volunteers his time at the Civil Air Patrol. He is employed by Wiscasset Municipal Airport. He enjoys flying, skiing and traveling.
Renaud plans to study chemical engineering at Cornell University.
— Kelsie Gagnon resides in West Bath with her parents, Peter and Bethany
She has been an honor roll student all four years and has received numerous subject awards for outstanding achievement. Gagnon is a member of National Honor Society and Interact Club, and is a Morse Mentor. She volunteers her time, at Patten Free Library as an aide, kindergarten classroom aide, Red Cross Blood Drive and Main Street Bath dinners. She is employed at Gediman’s Appliance. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, taking road trips and spending time with her family.
Gagnon plans to attend the University of Maine at Farmington to study elementary education. Her hope and dream for the future is to get her masters in education and travel the world.

She is the recipient of the Wellesley College Award and has been student of the quarter. She is a member of National Honor Society and Interact Club. Gonzalez is employed by Old Navy. She volunteers her time to Relay for Life fundraisers, a sign language group as an instructor, and “So You Think You Know Bath.” She enjoys hanging out with friends and shopping.
Gonzalez plans on attending the University of Vermont to study pre-medicine. Her hope and dream for the future is to graduate from college and medical school, and to have a career as a radiologist.
— Bess Howell resides in Woolwich with her parents, Randy Howell and Peggy
Duhamel.
She is an AP Scholar and has won several awards for academic distinction. She was tri- captain of the varsity soccer team and earned first team All KVAC and All Academic honors. She is president of Amnesty International’s Morse chapter, and participated in track, mixed choir and Girls’ State. She has played premier club soccer for four years and volunteers in the Morse mentoring program as well as at track meets and various fundraisers. In her free time, she enjoys the beach, traveling, skiing, reading and hanging out with friends.
Howell will attend the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. Her hope and dream for the future is to travel, live in a large city and be successful, happy and healthy.
— Megan Hixon resides in Bath with her parents, Randy and Diana Hixon.
She has received Society of Women Engin eers awards, three years of excellence in mathematics, KVAC All Academic Soccer team, Clarkson University award, and a high school leadership award. Megan is a member of National Honor Society. She plays varsity soccer, basketball and softball and has served as class secretary. Hixon is employed by Kennebec Tavern. She finds time to volunteer as a student member on Bath City Planning Board, Bath Freight Shed Alliance, Breast Cancer Awareness and youth sports. She enjoys going to the beach, watching movies, skiing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Hixon plans to attend college and major in engineering. Her hope and dream for the future is to travel, live abroad and to create useful innovative structures and products.
